Just because it won’t snow in Miami around December doesn’t mean we don’t have a Christmas spirit. On the contrary, we have a completely different Christmas than other states.
The holiday season is here and everyone is looking to go out, have fun, and “be jolly”. If you are looking for places to visit to celebrate the festive spirit you have come to the right place. Today, we’re going to be looking at a few events happening in the city that’ll get you in the Christmas Spirit.
Let’s start by saying that Miami is known for being the sunniest city in Florida – not something you’d associate with Christmas time! As Miamians and our sunny weather, instead of snow, we sprinkle some sand on our holidays.
For some, the minute residents clear away the Thanksgiving table is when they start prepping for Christmas. For others, even before Thanksgiving. For us Latinos, the Christmas spirit starts on November 1st. Undoubtedly, the Holiday season in Miami is unconventional. Christmas over here means going out in beach clothes, passing by the palm trees, taking a stroll on the beach, and drinking your favorite chillers because the sun’s still blaring.
One hundred rides, games, shows, and attractions – Santa’s Enchanted Forest which is the world’s largest holiday theme park, and it’s right here in Miami.
Santa’s Enchanted Forest has been running successfully for the past thirty-nine years. This year, Santa’s Enchanted Forest moves from Hialeah Park, where it decamped for a year after spending 37 at Tropical Park, to a new, much larger location in Doral.
Date: The park is open now and will run through January 8th, 2022
Location: 7500 NW 87th Ave Miami, Florida 33166
Miracle in Miami – a popup bar that’s meant to get you singing along to Christmas carols, enjoying a drink or two, and counting down with fellow residents as you all cheer, ‘Merry Christmas’ is back at Gramps Wynwood! The pop-up bar, much like Santa, comes by once every year with its holiday-themed cocktails, its gaudy Christmas decorations, and its karaoke machines that blast holiday music and only holiday music.
The bar stays dedicated to its theme with Christmas themed drinks such as the Jingle Balls Nog, Christmapolitan, Grandma’s Got Run, Santa’s Little Helper – and others. You’ll definitely get to take home Christmas decorations, outfits, and a bit of holiday joy with you!
Location: Gramps Wynwood 176 NW 24th St Miami, FL 33127
The sweetest of all holiday traditions The Nutcracker is back. You are invited to Little Marie’s dream and to her enchanted journey while she fights an army and the king. Here, you will get to see beautiful dancers dancing to music from a live orchestra.
This event is so loved by the locals, that it takes place at three different locations in South Florida. Depending on whichever is most convenient, you can either go to Miami, Broward, or West Palm Beach. The show is for the kids and the young at heart!
Date: December 16 – 24, 2022
Location: Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Miami. 1300 Biscayne Blvd. Miami, FL 33132

This is a beautiful 23-acre garden transformed into an illuminated magical fairyland with technicolor flowers. Here you can explore a combination of lighting effects, outdoor holographic technology, projection mapping, music and so much more. Additionally, you will find plenty of delicious food and drinks from some of Miami’s most popular food trucks. The full experience takes anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes to visit and explore its neon playground of secret sunken ponds, hidden fairy worlds, giant swaying dandelion fields and the rainbow-colored Orchid Bridge.

This season the Charles Deering’s waterfront Estate celebrates its 100th anniversary and because of that it will be even more beautiful. The estate will be transformed into an illuminated wonderland giving you the option to do a couple of things from their celebratory dinner for the holidays. They are going to be having different events throughout the holidays so definitely it is a special place with lots of history in this special and magic season to visit.

Location: 16701 SW 72nd Avenue Miami, FL 33157
This event, too, is a product of all the best bits of Christmas and South Florida combined. When you think of Christmas you think of Santa Claus, Christmas trees, and Gifts, whereas in South Florida, you think of beaches and the sea. The Winterfest Boat Parade integrated both of those aspects into one day.
This is one of the most popular Christmas events in South Florida. A 12-mile route to watch the 7th largest spectator event in the country, with Rudolph, Santa Claus and other Christmas favorites. One-of-a-kind parade of beautifully decorated boats of all sizes is a can’t miss extravaganza. Also, this parade is in the top 20 parades in the world by USAToday.
The best way to see the parade is at Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park in Fort Lauderdale. Other Viewing Areas: Bridges, The Riverside Hotel, Downtowner Saloon, and other various locations along the parade route.
Date: The parade starts at 6:30pm Saturday, December 10, 2022
Location: 300 Las Olas Circle, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316.
You can visit the Wynwood Market at any day but definitely Christmas is even more special. This is 75,000-square-foot, open-air venue with a selection from art to cocktails with live music putting together the best of Miami local talent and produce.
Retail Therapy at The Market is hosted by Artisan Bazaar and will feature close to a dozen local vendors selling holiday-themed goods. The pop-up market will feature food, clothes, accessories, and ornaments for your Christmas tree at prices that’ll have you grabbing two of each. Entry is free – but you’ll be spending money, I can assure you that!
Date: Sat, Dec 17, 2022
Location: Time Out Market Miami 1601 Drexel Ave Miami, FL 33139

This is the biggest Downtown celebration of the year.

At the beautiful Guitar Hotel – in the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino you can also celebrate the new years. The Masquerade at DAER will be the biggest part with Shaquille aka DJ DIESEL.
Location: Located inside at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida
From the family experience area, reserved tables for cabanas for larger groups, to access to the poolscape with open bar in Fontainebleau Hotel, you will celebrate the hottest New Year’s Eve party on Miami Beach. This will be an unforgettable evening on the resort’s legendary oceanfront with live performances of Marshmello Khalid.
Location: 4441 Collins Ave Miami Beach, FL 33140
These events barely scratch the surface, but these are the ones I thought are the most enjoyable. Enjoy a fun day with your kids at Santa’s Enchanted Forest, go out with your friends for a drink at Wynwood, or shop till you drop at the Artisan Bazaar in Time Out Market Miami.
Obviously, this is nowhere near enough time to list each and every place suited for Christmas celebrations, but we tried to mention all the good ones.
I know that different areas like Coral Gables and Doral make their own local events. For example Downtown Doral they always plan beautiful things and events every year so definitely keep an eye there too.
